About the Program

WSY: We See You Creative Writing & Mentoring Program

WSY provides a powerful platform for high school students to share their personal stories and lived experiences, while also offering financial support to those who qualify. These narratives are showcased in our publication, SNAPSHOT: Young, Black & Gifted.

To further support our students, we are proud to introduce a new mentoring program that helps them craft compelling personal narratives. WSY mentor, Mr. Christopher D. Moore, guides students in reflecting on their experiences, expressing their identities, and connecting with family history to tell their stories with authenticity and clarity.

This three-week virtual program includes weekly Zoom sessions and writing assignments that cover key aspects of narrative writing—such as idea generation, story structure, and refining prose.

WSY is open to students interested in exploring their personal journeys and family heritage in a supportive environment. Our goal is to help each student uncover their unique voice and share their story with impact.

In honor of our late founder, the Elise Woodson Scholarship is available to students who meet the eligibility criteria.
